A Beautiful Day

Today, was probably one of the most beautiful days of the year.  Seriously, it's been such a cold, wet & windy spring & summer, that today had to be one of the best.  And besides, nothing beats a beautiful autumn day anyways.   AD had a football jamboree, so we got to enjoy every bit of the day outside.  It was hot enough that I actually got a sunburn, probably the worst sunburn I've had this year (go figure).

AR stayed home for a birthday party and the other 4 kids played on the hill at the football field.  Country kids always find the most amusing ways to have fun.  They all slid down a big hill on pieces of cardboard garbage that was sitting around (the pizza box that was left in the bleachers worked the best).  GG had no sock or shoes on (surprise, surprise), but his feet must be completely calloused cuz that hill that scratched and scraped up all the other kids, left not a scratch on him.

NG crashs into GG - it looks like it might hurt but GG's a tough kid.

My niece, KR and JB goin for a ride - I love their faces!!
We played & won 3 football games - they are a great little team and tough to boot.  Every team we've played is so much bigger than us.  I'm certain that when they take off their helmets that they'll have a full beard.  How can 12 year olds be that BIG!!
AD running it for a touchdown - WooHoo!!

AD is running it.  See that red guy blocking that blue 32.  SL (my nephew) is  one of the biggest on our team  and look at him compared to blue 32.  Seriously, what do other towns feed their kids?!?
After the Jamboree, we took the scenic route home so Hubby could check his fields (I really need to come  up with a better nickname for him - any ideas?).  We saw lots of deer (some NICE whitetail and muley bucks - AD & NG have picked their hunting grounds), played at the gravel pit, and drove through every field in a 50 mile radius I'm sure

Sliding down this gravel hill is like getting dragged down a gravel road when the driver forgot he tied you to the bumper - but as I've said, our kids are tough.  AD did say that next time he'll bring gloves.

Checking out the graineries.
